Double Century
A FULL house at Home Park and two sets of passionate supporters will provide the ideal backdrop for Argyle manager Derek Adams to celebrate 200 games in charge of the Pilgrims.
The Pilgrims v Portsmouth, the Dockyard Derby in Sky Bet League One, is sure to be a fantastic spectacle and instant reminders of one of the greatest occasions in Derek’s tenure; the dramatic play-off win over Pompey in 2016.
It is a fantastic achievement for Derek to reach 200 games at the Home Park helm, especially in the modern world of swift managerial changes, and ranks our gaffer at number 10 in the list of longest-serving managers in the English game.
“I always enjoy these games because they are full houses,” said Derek. “We beat them in the play-off semi-final here, they are always big games and we love playing against them.
“To manage this football club for 200 games has been really exciting, we have come a long way in that time. I have had a very good relationship with the chairmen [James Brent and Simon Hallett]. We try to look after the football club as best we can and move it in the right direction.”
