International Klaidi
ARGYLE forward Klaidi Lolos has been called up to the Greece Under-19 national squad for their upcoming fixture against Romania in Athens.
Klaidi joined Argyle in 2017, shortly after his release from the Crystal Palace Academy, having impressed our Academy Director Kevin Hodges while playing on trial for Birmingham City against the Pilgrims.
The Greek striker was an integral part of Argyle’s FA Youth Cup success last season and featured in the high-profile victories over Manchester City and Burnley in our journey to the fifth round. Argyle narrowly missed out on a place in the Quarter Final, losing 3-1 to Fulham after extra time, despite Lolos giving the Greens the lead.
Klaidi’s form for the youth and reserve sides at Home Park earned him a spot on the bench against Gillingham on the final day of the 2017-18 Sky Bet League One campaign.
This season, Klaidi has been an ever-present in Argyle’s under-18 EFL Youth Alliance campaign, finishing the season as the Greens’ top-scorer with eight goals in 20 appearances.
Congratulations to Klaidi and particularly fitting that his international recognition comes in a week of celebration for EFL Youth players.
