IT was an absolute pleasure for all of us at Home Park and for the Green Army to welcome legendary manager Tony Waiters back to the Theatre of Greens on Saturday.
Tony took charge of the Pilgrims from 1972-1977, guiding us to a historic League Cup semi-final and promotion a season later, before moving out to Canada, where he would eventually manage the national team.
Tony was joined for a reunion with the famed strike-force of Paul Mariner and Billy Rafferty, as well as many other star names of the Argyle past. After enjoying a superb victory over Rochdale, the party continued in the Green Taverners’ Suite.
