SWPL Game Off

ALL Argyle eyes will be on the first-team trip to Peterborough United this weekend, as a combination of the weather and scheduling has left the other Pilgrim squads without a fixture.

The first victim of the conditions is tonight’s meeting with Cullompton Rangers in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League, which has been postponed due to an unplayable pitch at Coach Road.

The EFL Youth Alliance has now reached its conclusion and Argyle move into the Merit League, with the first fixture in this competition being played on Saturday, February 16.

There is also no game for the Argyle Ladies first-team and development squad. Following the withdrawal of Plympton from the Devon Senior Cup, Argyle Ladies now know they will face either Exeter City or Buckland Athletic in the final in April.

The development squad have no fixture until February 24 but the break in games could actually be a blessing disguise, as the Pilgrims are nursing injuries in both squads and the extra recovery time is very welcome.
