Ladies v Wasps
PLYMOUTH Argyle Ladies face a huge challenge on Sunday when they entertain Crawley Wasps in the third round of the National League Cup. The tie is being played at Argyle’s temporary home at Devon HQ, Newton Abbot for a 1pm kick off.
Argyle will hope to have a fully fit squad available for the tie. Kayley Lane has returned from Australia and Greece Under-20 international Panagiota Papaioannou has finally arrived back in the UK after being snowbound while on holiday in Greece.
Jessie Jones missed Argyle’s last match, a 2-1 defeat at league leaders Chichester City, due to sickness, but is expected to be available.
Argyle’s Development team will face arguably their sternest test of the season when they welcome one of their title rivals Alphington at the Salt Mill Saltash for a 2pm kick-off. The management team were more than pleased with the overall team performance in their last game and the way they applied themselves.
While the first-team travel to Southend United in Sky Bet League One on Saturday, Argyle’s trip to Bodmin Town in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League has been postponed.
The weekend starts on Saturday morning, as we return to Portsmouth in the EFL Youth Alliance after the original fixture was abandoned with less than an hour played, due to severe weather.
