Fan-tastic

ARGYLE manager Ryan Lowe has had his first taste of the amazing support provided by the Green Army after the opening pre-season game at Truro City.

An incredible attendance of more than 1,700 for the debut fixture of the Lowe era was so impressive that the officials sensibly decided to delay kick-off, allowing supporters time to reach the stadium at Treyew Road.

Ryan met many of our Cornish supporters at a fans forum in Bodmin on Monday evening and the boss is clearly enjoying the unique backing provided by our superb fans.

“First thoughts are on the fans, we had to delay the kick-off because they travelled down in such numbers, outstanding in the first game and I thank them for that,” he said.

“I knew when I was coming down here what I was getting from the fans and the ref asked me before the game if we could delay the kick-off – of course we can. They were stuck on the roads and they’ve been magnificent, every one of them.

"The fans I met at Bodmin last night, I can’t thank them all enough. They are here to support us and that support has been unbelievable. It’s down to the nitty gritty now and getting the lads fit for the first game of the season.”
