Mayor Sponsors
IT is not just Plymouth Argyle who have benefitted from the signing of our new number 10, Danny Mayor, but also Snows VW Van Centre, who have taken up a sponsorship deal for the new recruit.
Snows Van Centre in Plympton is a Volkswagen Approved Commercial Vehicles Dealership. The centre sells New and Approved Used VW Commercial vehicles, including the iconic and award-winning Volkswagen Transporter.
Paul Morrow from Snows, said: “We represent Volkswagen in Plymouth with commercial vehicles, so anything from small caddies to the iconic transporter, which everyone seems to know about. We do the California range, we have campervans and we do servicing, repairs and MOTs.
“We are based up at Langage Business Park in Plympton and we have been open as ‘Snows’ for coming up to four years, so we are still relatively new.”
Having been Graham Carey’s sponsor last season, the business jumped at the chance of being able to move on to the exciting talents of Danny Mayor.
“[Argyle Commercial Manager] James [Greenacre] phoned us up and offered me the chance, saying [Danny Mayor] was going to sign. Obviously, he’s a great replacement for Graham Carey, so he is perfect for us really.
“I’ve watched a few videos of him to see how good he is and it’s exciting. I think he is going to be the talisman for the club, you look at all the buzz all over social media that he’s signed, so I think it’s great for us to have that type of player.”
Having taken up the sponsorship deal, it means that Snows will receive a lot more publicity through their advertising boards around the ground, as well as being recognised as sponsoring one of our significant squad members.
“It’s our name out there every time he scores and the board in the ground as well,” said Paul. “From my perspective, I don’t think I can get much of a bigger audience than this in Plymouth, particularly because there has been a feel-good factor around.
“The ground was full pretty much every week last season, 12,000 people here, so that’s 12,000 people who are going to hear our name and see our board in the stand, with our van outside.”
Snows are just as much about giving their services as they are about receiving custom. They are all about offering their best service to anyone who needs it, including their last sponsor, Carey, as well as current squad member, Antoni Sarcevic.
“We are a family-run business,” said Paul. “Community is very important to us, so, if we can put something back into the community and hopefully get a little bit back out of it, it is important to us - it’s how we develop and grow our business.
“I love my football, I coach a kids’ football team as well with AFC Devonport, so I’m also very excited for the season, can’t wait to see how we get on.
“Snows are proud to be a sponsor of Plymouth Argyle and welcome Danny to this wonderful city and fantastic club. We hope to continue supporting the club throughout the coming season in whatever way we can.”
