One or Two

ARGYLE manager Ryan Lowe confirmed he still has potential targets on the radar as we approach the opening weekend of the Sky Bet League Two season at Crewe Alexandra.

While the gaffer is pleased with the squad he has assembled at Home Park over the past six weeks, adding new recruits to the previous playing staff, there is a possibility of more coming through the door.

If these further additions are loan players, Ryan will not come to any agreement that ties his hands in terms of team selection.

“We’re working hard on one or two [targets],” said Ryan. “Whether that comes before Saturday, we will have to wait and see.

“We’ve got our targets and waiting on parent-clubs, and there are other clubs involved, so we’ll have to be mindful of that. It is up to the kids then and where they want to play.

“What we don’t want is to have a gun to our head that says they’ve got to play because we’ve probably got two players for every position and I’ve said to the boys that whoever is playing the best will play.

“Whoever coming in has to have that same mentality. We’re looking at two players and we’ll bring the two of them if we can, but we are happy with where we are.”
