Will for Wales

ACADEMY prospect William Jenkins-Davies marked his international debut with a goal, coming off the bench to score a penalty in Wales’ 4-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in the Victory Shield.

Wales’ senior manager, Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, watched on as Will came off the bench to win a penalty, before converting confidently.

Will is an under-15 academy player at Home Park, and attends Torbay Boys’ Grammar School. He joined up with the Wales squad on Saturday, October 26, and was an unused substitute in their opening game on the Monday, a 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland, before scoring on his debut a few days later.

“Everyone in the Academy is delighted for Will,” said Academy manager Phil Stokes. “This once again demonstrates the good work that goes on within the foundation and youth development phase.

“Will signed for the Academy in primary school, and has developed his skills over the last seven years. He is only Under-15, but has already played for the Under-16 and Under-18 sides this season since returning from Northern Ireland as part of the Super Cup squad.”

Congratulations, Will.
