Match-Day Magic

ON Saturday, Argyle Community Trust welcome Fremington FC to Home Park for the Sky Bet League Two clash with Cheltenham, as part of the Match-Day Magic initiative.

A group of over 40 keen footballers, and their parents, will make the two-hour trip down from Barnstaple, in North Devon, to sample our ever-popular package, led by Argyle Community Trust’s Alec Brenton.

Match-Day Magic has been running for over 20 years and is a chance for schools, clubs and charities to experience an unforgettable action-packed day with the Greens. The day includes a stadium tour, a buffet and an hour-long coaching session. It is an extremely exciting opportunity for young Pilgrims across the South West.

It is not the first time that Fremington have experienced a day out at Home Park – as Paul Capner, who organises the trip on behalf of Fremington, explains.

“We came down last year and it was a fantastic experience,” says Paul. “Even the coach journey down, it adds to the excitement for our kids. They are buzzing all the way down, and once they participated in the day, they were buzzing all the way back to Barnstaple.”

It has been so popular, in fact, that Fremington are sending another group of players, from other age groups, down to Home Park for the following Sky Bet League Two home game against Scunthorpe, on October 5.

“After last year, I spoke to the committee at the club and they agreed that it was something that we could send everyone to – so we’re actually doing two trips this year. Hopefully both groups see an Argyle win!”

Fremington will arrive bright and early at the Theatre of Greens for a 9:30am start - where they will receive a warm welcome, stadium tour and a coaching session in the Life Centre courtesy of the FA qualified coaches within Argyle Community Trust.

Following their training session, they will be treated to a buffet, before having the opportunity to visit the club shop to get kitted out like the rest of the Green Army. Finally, they will make their way to the family stand to watch The Pilgrims take on the Robins.
