Jephcott Called Up
Young striker Luke Jephcott has been called up to the Welsh under-21 squad.
The Pilgrims’ young striker and his Wales teammates travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina for a UEFA under-21 qualifying match in Zenica.
The 20-year-old previously represented Wales at under-19 level, where he has made a total of 11 appearances for the side, including his debut performance in a 1-0 win over Ireland. If selected, it will be Luke's first cap at U21 level.
Luke will meet up with the international squad on Sunday, 30 August, training at the squad’s base before the fixture on Friday, September 4.
Last season was somewhat of a breakthrough for young Jephcott, having returned to the Theatre of Greens after being out on loan to Truro City for the first half of the season.
On his return to the fold, Luke was thrust straight back into the starting line-up, bagging four goals in his first two games against Scunthorpe United and Carlisle United. He then continued to impress and finished the shortened season with a total of seven goals in 15 appearances.
The success did not stop there, with Luke also winning the Pilgrims’ Young Player of the Season award for 2020, for the second year running, receiving 85% of the vote from the Green Army.
Go well, Luke.
