Green Army Guide

THE Pilgrims make their first trip to Salford’s Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday evening in Sky Bet League Two.

The stadium holds a total of 5,106 supporters, 2,240 of which can be seated. The Green Army face a 586-mile round trip from Home Park, which takes five hours and 15 minutes each way.

The old ground they had has been completely replaced by four new stands, with the corners enclosed, effectively making it a new stadium, and it was renovated in just 10 months.

Main Stand is on the Neville Road side of the ground and is mainly all seated stand with six rows of seats. At the back of the stand, there is a small area of standing. The team dug-outs are located at the front of this stand. The new Moor Lane Stand is opposite to this and is also an all-seater.

Both ends have newly covered terraces, with the West Terrace and the East Terrace opposite. The East Terrace is almost an exact copy of the West Terrace and all of part of this terrace can be allocated to away supporters.

With Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs taking a shareholding in the Club, over the last few years Salford City's media profile has risen significantly and so has the Club on the playing field, with four league promotions in five seasons.

The Ammies, as they’re also known, have been playing in red and white ever since changing from orange and black in 2014, as worn by the club mascots - three lions; one male, one female and one cub.

The Peninsula Stadium have put in place some refreshment units behind all stands which serve alcohol as well as food. Although the stadium is in a residential area, there are no pubs in the near vicinity but there is the Fairways Lodge about half a mile away on George Street.

There is no parking available at the ground for away supporters and the streets that are immediately around the ground are for residents only, so always keep an eye out for signs. There is, however, street parking a little further away from the ground, which will also help in terms of getting away after the match.
