First time: Carl Fletcher’s men drew 1-1 at home to Crawley on Saturday, January 21, 2012. French central defender Maxime Blanchard scored our last-minute equaliser.
Last time: Derek Adams’ team saw out the old year by beating the Red Devils 2-0 on Saturday, December 31, 2016. Goal scorers Oscar Threlkeld and Craig Tanner ensured that we returned to the top of League Two.
Biggest win: The 2-0 victory in December 2016.
Heaviest defeat: Crawley have never won at Home Park.
Most goals in a single game: Three, in our 2-1 victory on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Reuben Reid and on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder Hiram Boateng were the scorers for Derek Adams’ Greens.
Further interesting facts: It might be wise not to leave the ground until after the final whistle on tonight. As well as Maxime Blanchard’s 90th minute strike, Hiram Boateng scored after 89 minutes in 2015 and Craig Tanner after 90 + 5 minutes in 2016.
Conversely, if the (limited) history in this fixture is anything to go by, don’t expect any early goals. Of the seven scored, only two have come in the first half – and the earliest of these came from Reuben Reid in the 43rd minute back in October 2015.
In our 2-1 victory in October 2015, Crawley had future and former Greens Sonny Bradley and Ross Jenkins in their starting line-up. Also, our former skipper Simon Walton came on as a substitute for Town. Midfielder Jenkins played two games on loan for Argyle from Watford in the autumn of 2012.
