Unparalleled Support
Plymouth Argyle would like to place on record its thanks to members of the Green Army for their pledges to financially support the club through the coronavirus crisis.
In the aftermath of club Chairman Simon Hallett’s update to supporters published on Wednesday afternoon, we have been inundated with messages from fans wishing to lend financial assistance towards the fight to survive the loss of revenues in the short-term.
Many supporters have indicated a desire to kickstart a number of initiatives to provide cashflow to the club, and all suggestions are gratefully received. Examples of some of these suggestions include direct debit schemes, prize raffles, and pursuance of a live-streaming alternative for season-ticket holders.
While the club is extremely grateful for the volume of suggestions and generosity of spirit shown by supporters as we look to navigate the challenging times ahead, we ask that, in the immediate term, you bear with us as we try to bring those plans to fruition for the Green Army to support.
At present, club staff are in the midst of planning for a number of possible outcomes moving forward, and fundraising opportunities are being pursued with the objective to ensure that all funds can be generated in the most efficient way possible.
We know that supporters’ money is hard-earned, particularly in the current economic climate, and we want to ensure that any contributions made have the greatest possible return.
With many of the crucial decisions on the league’s financial position, playing schedules, and timeframe for the 20/21 season still to be decided in the weeks ahead, much of the picture is yet to become clear.
We hope to be able to share more information with the Green Army on how you can contribute to the club in the coming weeks.
If supporters wish to contribute to the club immediately, we advise that the best vehicle to do so is by making a purchase from the online Argyle Superstore.
Alternatively, if fans wish to donate money without material return, they can transfer funds via PayPal, or send a cheque to Plymouth Argyle Football Club, Home Park, Plymouth, Devon, PL2 3DQ.
Of course, ticket-holders for the 19/20 season – whether they are season-tickets, flexi tickets, or individual match tickets – can make a significant contribution by simply waiving their right to refund – although we understand that some supporters will not be in the position to do so. More information on ticket refunds and waivers will be provided in the eventuality that the season is formally concluded.
We thank you for your unparalleled support – it is not taken for granted.
Together, as One Argyle, we can emerge stronger from this crisis.
