Wise Words

Striker Wensday Wise has summed up the mood of determination within the camp for Argyle’s female footballers, as the first-team prepare to welcome Chichester & Selsey to Manadon on Sunday kick-off 2pm.

The young Pilgrims have gone down to defeat in the opening two games of the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division but manager Ryan Perks has been encouraged with some improved performances.

The key for Sunday will be eliminating the needless mistakes and being more clinical in front of goal, a duty that could fall on the shoulders, and feet, of Wise.

“As a striker, my objective for Sunday is to try and help the team by scoring goals,” said Wise. “The mindset is really positive, everyone has come back to training this week with a good attitude and the biggest aim for all of us is to win the game.”

You can read the full interview with Wensday Wise in our free downloadable match-day programme, The Pilgrim.

Admission is just £2.

The venue has a capacity of 50 spectators under current Covid restrictions and those in attendance will be asked to scan the NHS Track & Trace QR code from the app.
