Randell's New Deal

Midfield prospect Adam Randell has signed a contract extension, keeping him at Home Park until the summer of 2022.

The Pilgrims’ Academy graduate, 20, has spent this season on loan at National League leaders Torquay United, making 22 appearances in the Gulls’ 20/21 promotion campaign.

Having been a regular squad member in the Pilgrims’ 19/20 Sky Bet League Two promotion season, Adam joined the Greens' Devon neighbours in October, marking his full debut with a long-range screamer in a 2-1 win at Bromley.

The former Plymstock School student joined the club’s Academy at under-11 level, and played a key role in the Pilgrims’ FA Youth Cup run in the 17/18 season, where they claimed the scalps of Manchester City and Burnley.

Adam made his debut for the Greens as an 18-year-old in an EFL Trophy fixture at Newport County, before being awarded his first professional deal the following summer.

Argyle manager Ryan Lowe said: “We are delighted to have rewarded Adam with a new deal. He’s been superb on loan at Torquay this season.

“We felt that the time was right to finalise the contract, as we have been very pleased with the progress he is making.

“We are looking forward to seeing Adam continue to perform at Torquay for the rest of the season. He will return to us a more experienced player, ready to push on."
