Ladies Virtually in Scotland

The amazing running challenge set by the Plymouth Argyle Women’s team has now virtually reached Scotland.

To keep themselves busy and active during the current lockdown, Argyle Ladies set themselves the challenge to run the distance from Home Park to John O’Groats at the northernmost tip of Scotland (758.7 miles).

It has taken the ladies just 11 days to collectively accumulate a brilliant 421 miles, taking them virtually to the Scottish border, and they have already raised almost £1,500, which will be split evenly between the Women’s team and the Hugs Childrens Cancer Charity.

“The girls are thoroughly enjoying the challenge and it has been split across the first-team and development squads,” said Argyle Ladies manager Ryan Perks.

“We’ve limited it to the first 23 players that signed up, just to make it more of a challenge, and they’ve got to do an average of 33 miles each.

“We originally set a target of £1,000 but we smashed that before the challenge had even started, so we increased the target to £2,000. The money will be split 50/50, so we’re raising money for the women’s team and the Hugs Charity.

“It has gone better than we could have ever hoped and massive thanks to the supporters for their donations. The response has been fantastic and we are all extremely grateful.”
