21/22 Streaming Details Announced
Following the EFL’s announcement earlier today, we are writing to update supporters on live match streaming regulations for the upcoming season.
Having relaxed streaming rules for the behind closed doors period, allowing supporters in the UK and abroad to stream Argyle matches live last season, the decision has been made to reinstate UEFA Article 48, seeing streaming rules revert back to how they were before the pandemic.
As such, fixtures that kick off at 3pm on Saturdays will, in the vast majority of cases, revert back to audio only streams for domestic subscribers to Argyle TV. However, international subscribers will still be able to enjoy video coverage of these matches, unless they are selected for live television broadcast.
Midweek and Bank Holiday Sky Bet League One fixtures are not affected by reinstating Article 48, meaning that both domestic and international subscribers can enjoy live video coverage of the Argyle fixtures that do not occur on Saturdays, unless they are selected for live television coverage, as is the case with the Greens’ trip to Portsmouth on Monday, 6 September. Please note, domestic supporters will need to purchase match passes for these fixtures, and they are not included in domestic subscriptions.
As a discretionary measure, Sky Bet League One clubs also voted to retain the video streaming blackout for fixtures falling during international periods. For complete transparency, Argyle voted against this decision.
Carabao Cup fixtures are not permitted to be streamed via Argyle TV, for domestic or international subscribers, and Emirates FA Cup coverage will be decided on a round by round basis. However, Papa John’s Trophy fixtures are available to stream live both in the UK and overseas.
Domestic supporters can sign up to Argyle TV now for as little as £4.50 per month, entitling them to hundreds of hours of Argyle content on demand, as well as exclusive new features, live audio commentary of all first-team fixtures, and everything else going behind the scenes at Home Park. For domestic supporters, when matches are permitted to be streamed through Argyle TV, match passes will be made available on a game by game basis.
Overseas subscribers can enjoy live video coverage of all Argyle Sky Bet League One fixtures, home and away, that are not selected for television broadcast, as well as the rest of the on demand content and archives on Argyle TV.
