Academy Vacancies | Head of Education and Head of Player Care
Two exciting roles have arisen in our ambitious and forward-thinking youth set-up, helping to shape the futures of the next generation of Argyle talent.
The Academy is recruiting a Head of Education on a part-time basis, working three days a week to support Academy players with their holistic development and education.
The role is delivered in partnership with League Football Education (LFE) and the English Football league (EFL), and the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of teaching within a school or college. Candidates must hold either the QTS or QTLS teaching qualification and a degree or equivalent qualification in sport. We are also looking for experience within a professional football club and in a busy and fast paced environment.
We are also looking to appoint our first ever Head of Player Care. The full-time role has been established through the Premier League and and EFL to support Academy players with their emotional and mental wellbeing during their time in the system at Home Park, and will work collaboratively with Academy colleagues to promote wellbeing of all young players at Argyle.
Applicants must have a working knowledge of education, welfare, mental health and player care. Candidates would be expected to enrol on the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course and hold an in-date FA Safeguarding qualification. We are also looking for experience within player care and player development.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. These roles involve the supervision of, and working with, children and young people. As the role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, applicants must disclose all previous convictions including spent convictions.
Interested candidates are invited to email our Academy Manager, Phil Stokes, on phil.stokes@pafc.co.uk for a full job description.
The closing date for all applications is 12pm on Wednesday, 27 July.
