Argyle Academy are recruiting for three exciting and important roles within the programme at Home Park.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Under-13s Lead Coach and Under-18s Assistant Coach to support the delivery of our player development programme across the Youth Development and Professional Development Phases, and part-time coaching roles within our Pre-Academy, Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase (Under-7 to Under-14).

Vacancy: Under-13s Lead Coach and Under-18s Assistant Coach

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the development pathway of Academy players, contributing across two critical phases while working within a progressive, multidisciplinary environment.

As the club continues its transition to Foulston Park, our new purpose-built Academy training ground, this role offers the chance to be part of an ambitious and evolving football programme.

Essential requirements

  • UEFA A Licence.

  • FA Advanced Youth Award (12–16 or 17–21). 

  • FA Youth Award. 

  • FA Safeguarding Certificate. 

  • FA Emergency First Aid in Football.

  • Experience coaching within a professional football academy environment.

  • Strong understanding of player development across Youth Development and Professional Development Phases. 

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, delivery and review of the Under-13s coaching programme, including training sessions and matchdays. 

• Support the delivery of the Under-18s weekly programme alongside the Professional Development Phase Lead Coach. 

• Design, implement and review Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players across both age groups. 

• Ensure all players receive performance reviews in line with EPPP timelines.

• Deliver a holistic coaching programme covering technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social development.

• Maintain accurate player records and ensure all data is updated on FIP and relevant systems.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff including medical, sports science, education and recruitment.

Vacancy: Under-9s to Under-14s Age Group Coach

This is an important role in the early stages of the Academy pathway, helping to shape our young players' technical and tactical understanding in a professional environment.

Essential requirements

• UEFA B Licence.

• FA Youth Award.

• FA Safeguarding Workshop certification.

• FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF).

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and review high-quality coaching sessions aligned to the club’s philosophy and syllabus.

• Support the development and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).

• Contribute to player performance reviews in line with EPPP guidelines.

• Ensure accurate data entry and reporting through Academy systems (e.g. FIP).

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff including coaching, medical and recruitment teams.

• Engage positively with players and parents to support development.

• Attend CPD events and contribute to continuous professional development.
