Argyle Academy are recruiting for two critical and important roles within the programme at Home Park.
We are seeking a driven and experienced Head of Academy Medical & Performance to lead the delivery of our Medical and performance support provision across all age groups, and a committed and detail-oriented Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist to support the delivery of high-quality medical care across the Foundation and Youth Development Phases (Under-7s to Under-16s).

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and evolving our performance and medical strategy, supporting player development, wellbeing and availability as the Academy continues to progress — including our transition to our new training ground at Foulston Park.
Essential requirements
MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine or a related discipline.
HCPC registered and member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF).
Experience working within an elite football academy environment (YDP/PDP).
Strong knowledge of EPPP, FA and professional academy standards.
Proven experience in injury management, athletic development and return-to-play processes.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design, implementation and continuous review of the Academy Medical & Performance programme across U7–U18 age groups.
• Provide and oversee medical and performance support at training sessions and fixtures, including player preparation, recovery and pitch-side care.
• Manage and coordinate Medical & Performance support staffing across all phases, ensuring compliance with EPPP standards.
• Monitor and manage player health and performance data, including wellbeing, workload, GPS and fitness testing metrics.
• Lead injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play processes across the Academy.
• Oversee medical screening, profiling and the maintenance of accurate medical records and FIP reporting.
• Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and emergency procedures are adhered to across Academy operations.

Vacancy: Academy Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist (Under-7s to Under-16s)
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting player health, wellbeing and development within a progressive Academy environment, contributing to injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance support as the Academy continues to evolve.
Essential requirements
• BSc in Sports Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• Qualified or working towards Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF).
• FA Safeguarding Workshop certification.
• Experience working within a sports or clinical environment.
• Strong understanding of injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play processes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, duty of care and youth athlete welfare.
Responsibilities
• Deliver assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and pitch-side first aid for U7–U16 Academy players at training sessions and fixtures.
• Design, implement and review individual rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes in collaboration with coaching staff.
• Provide physiotherapy clinics and ongoing medical support for Academy players.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records on the FIP system within required timelines.
• Record, monitor and report injury data, contributing to injury audits and player performance reviews.
• Implement and maintain Emergency Action Plans and ensure all medical equipment is checked and available.
