Plymouth Argyle Academy are delighted to confirm several new additions across our age groups, further strengthening our player pathway and regional talent identification network across the South West.
These latest signings, introduced at the first team’s Sky Bet League One home tie against Wigan Athletic, reflect the continued success of our Academy scouting and development programmes, with players progressing from our Cornwall and Devon pathways, as well as from local grassroots and development environments.
George Hookway joins our Under-10s squad having impressed within one of our Elite Hubs. A talented young player with great enthusiasm and potential, George’s progression highlights the opportunities available through those hubs across the region.
We are pleased to welcome Ethan Tichias, Finley Tassell, and Freddie Thatcher to our U13 Academy group.
Ethan is an exciting forward player who brings pace and creativity to the attacking unit. Finley, a ball-playing defender, joins us following spells with Chivenor Soccer and has consistently demonstrated composure and quality in possession. Freddie arrives from Saints Southwest, with his energy and technical ability impressing during recent fixtures and training opportunities.
Two players who were part of our Northern Ireland Super Cup squad this summer, Zain Malik and Will Harris, have signed to our Under-14s side.
Zain, continues to impress with his movement and finishing ability, whilst Will, a dynamic and athletic full-back, joins from Chivenor Soccer and has shown great potential with his versatility and physical attributes.
Finally, goalkeeper Tom Armytage and Ashton Roberts join our Under-15s. Tom makes the step up from our Cornwall Pathway and has impressed with his shot-stopping ability and leadership qualities. Ashton, from Chivenor Soccer, is a lively and powerful forward who has shown real promise throughout his trial period.
