Argyle Women 2024/25 Pre-Season Schedule
Argyle Women’s pre-season fixture list features an array of games to prepare Ryan Perks’ side for the 2024/25 FA Women’s National League season.
It will be the first for the women’s team after coming under the banner of Plymouth Argyle Football Club, and a chance to build on a very promising 2023/24 season.
Perks’ side finished ninth in the table, 15 points clear of the relegation places, with a strong run in the FA Cup to boot.
The Pilgrims will begin pre-season with an away game against Moneyfields FC, a side from the division below Argyle, who are based in Portsmouth. The game will take place on Sunday, 7 July.
This is followed, a week later, by a game against Cardiff City at Cardiff International Sports Campus. This is the Cardiff side who play in the Adran Premier League and are affiliated to the Cardiff City men’s team in the Sky Bet Championship. This is not the side formerly known as Cardiff City Ladies, now Gwalia United, whom we will face in the league campaign.
On Sunday, 21 July, we will host Yeovil Town at Manadon Sports Hub. The Glovers won the Somerset League last season, with a 100% record, and will play in the South West Regional League next season, which is three levels below Argyle. Just two days later, the Greens will be hosted by Torquay United at Coach Road, who were relegated from tier four to five on the final day of last season.
Argyle will then return to Manadon Sports Hub to face Aberystwyth Town of the Adran Premier League on Sunday, 28 July, before heading north to play Manchester United Under-21s the following Saturday. In a season where the Red Devils’ first team won the Women’s FA Cup for the first time, their Under-21s won the Northern Academy League.
Pre-season concludes with a home fixture against Bridgwater United, on Sunday, 11 August, a week before the season is set to get under way. Bridgwater play in the FAWNL South West Division One, one level below Argyle, where they finished sixth last season.
