Argyle women v Cardiff City Ladies

Argyle Women to Play Cardiff City Ladies at Home Park

Sync fixtures

Argyle Women will return to Home Park in November, as the Pilgrims take on Cardiff City Ladies in a repeat of last season’s fixture between the sides.

Cardiff came to the Theatre of Greens last season, and a bumper crowd saw the Greens win the game 2-1 to advance to the quarter-finals of the FA Women’s National League Cup.

This time, the sides will meet in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, on Sunday, 19 November at 2pm, as the club continues its commitment to support the growth of the women’s game, following last season’s Home Park games against Cardiff and Ipswich Town.

“It’s great to be back playing at Home Park,” said Argyle Women’s manager Ryan Perks. “The games we played there last season were fantastic and it was great to see so many fans getting behind the team and supporting women’s football in the city.

“It was pleasing to get the win against Cardiff in our last fixture at Home Park, and a big part of that was the noise and atmosphere created by the fans. It would be great to get a larger crowd this time out and hopefully get the same result.”

Perks’ side have shown steady signs of improvement in recent weeks. Argyle’s first win of the season came at home to Cheltenham Town in September and the Greens went on to secure victory away from home against Chatham Town in a run of fixtures against teams in the top half of the table.

Argyle’s last two performances - against Portsmouth and Hashtag United, two teams already showing their intentions at the top of the table - demonstrated how Argyle are heading in the right direction despite both games ending in defeat. Performances have left Ryan Perks confident that, after a break in fixtures, the Greens can continue to build momentum in the build-up to their return to Home Park.
