Argyle Women - Retained List

Argyle Women have retained the services of 18 first-team players, with four departing ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 season.

Club captain Zoe Cunningham will stay, alongside 17 of Ryan Perks’ 2022/23 side that finished the season by securing safety in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier after a 3-0 victory over Milton Keynes Dons at Manadon Sports Hub.

The four players leaving the Pilgrims are Amber Pollock, Kayley Lane, Rosie Train and Tiana Campbell.

Pollock and Lane each accumulated over 140 appearances for Argyle, having both made their debuts in the 2014/15 season. Pollock would go on to score 42 goals in her time as a Pilgrim, with Lane netting on 31 occasions.

Tiana Campbell also departs the club having appeared 37 times across two seasons for the Greens, and Rosie Train also departs to continue her development both on and off the pitch, having been successful in gaining a football scholarship in the United States of America. Train made her debut for the Greens in the 2020/21 season and went on to appear 69 times across three years, scoring on three occasions.

Forward Lily Greenslade, who scored 10 times in 24 games last season, has completed her loan spell and will return to Bristol City.

“I want to thank each and every player for their hard work and commitment to the club over the last 12 months,” said Argyle Women’s manager Ryan Perks. “This is always the toughest part of the job in the off-season, looking at areas of the squad we need to strengthen, with players moving on with university offers abroad and loans ending.

“We have had to make some tough decisions, and I want to wish those players moving on all the best in what comes next in their journeys. We are looking forward to welcoming the players back to pre-season in a couple of weeks and hopefully with some new additions to the squad.”

Everyone at Argyle would like to thank all of the players leaving the club for their service and commitment to the club, and we wish them all the very best for their futures on and off the pitch.
