Moment of the season

9.58pm - Our next award is the Moment of the Season, sponsored by Influence Planning. To present the award are Paul Bateman from Influence Planning and Jane Hallett.

9.54pm - The winner of the Jack Leslie Respect Award is Argyle Women’s captain Zoe Cunningham.

Jack Leslie Award

Zoe epitomises the role of captain, and displayed the qualities needed when scoring twice on the final day of the season, as Argyle beat Milton Keynes Dons 3-0 to ensure survival. Zoe lost her mother during the season, but coped superbly, showing class and commitment. We’re proud of you, Zoe.

9.52pm - Next, we have the Jack Leslie Respect Award, which is sponsored by Ocean City Therapy. Named our legendary player of the 1920s, the Jack Leslie award goes to some one shows excellence, commitment, leadership and strength, often through adversity, epitomising the values we all share at Argyle.

9.50pm - Bali Mumba is named as the Argyle Men’s Players’ Player of the Season.

Players player of the season

It has been an amazing season for the 21-year-old wing-back, who joined on a season-long loan from Norwich in the summer, and played 47 times, scoring six goals – with almost every one a cracker, and very memorable.

They included two against Ipswich Town – one from range in a televised home game, and a dramatic equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Portman Road – and a spectacular long-range effort against Exeter City in the 4-2 win at Home Park.

Well done, Bali.

9.49pm - The players of Argyle Women’s team have voted Kayley Lane as their Player of the Season.

Players player of the season

Midfielder Kayley has been a mainstay of the side all season, with her energetic, box-to-box performances a driving force for the side. She was nominated for Player of the Month five times during the campaign, winning the award in September. Kayley joined Argyle in 2014/15, and is just short of 150 games for the club.

Congratulations Kayley!

9.48pm - Next, we move on to the Players’ Player of the Season awards. These awards are voted for by the squads of both teams, and are considered a prestigious honour to win.

The awards will be presented by Dan Sleeman from award sponsors Eden Hot Tubs and former Argyle Women’s captain, now an Argyle TV commentator and pundit, Katie Middleton.

9.45pm - Niall Ennis has won the Men’s Goal of the Season for his spectacular overhead kick against Bristol Rovers.

Goal of the Season

With Argyle’s 44th game of the season poised at 0-0, James Wilson crossed the ball from the right, to where Ennis was waiting, with his back to goal. He chested the ball up, then fell backwards, timing his overhead strike perfectly to beat goalkeeper James Belshaw and put Argyle in front. They would go on to win 2-0, gaining three vital points on their way to the Sky Bet League One title.

Ennis scored 14 goals during the season, including one against Burton Albion that confirmed Argyle’s promotion. However, for a combination of its importance and its brilliance, the Rovers was goal was the pick of the 97 scored by the Pilgrims during this amazing season.

9.42pm - The Argyle Women’s Goal of the Season goes to Zoe Cunningham’s superb strike against Milton Keynes Dons, in the final game of the season.

Goal of the season

The Pilgrims knew that a victory would ensure survival in FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, and they did it in style, winning 3-0.

The third, to put the matter beyond doubt, was captain Cunningham’s second of the match, and what a strike it was. Picking up on a headed clearance, Zoe controlled the ball with her chest, then struck a sweet dipping volley from 25 yards over the goalkeeper.

9.39pm - The next awards will honour the Goals of the Season for the Argyle Women’s and Men’s teams. They will be presented by Jon Pilkington, from Pilkington Estates and Argyle Women’s General Manager, Elaine Dalton-Fyfe.

9.38pm - The winner of the Breakthrough Prospect Award is Jack Endacott!

Breakthrough

Jack, a left wing-back who has been a key member of the Under-18s side, made his first-team debut when starting Argyle’s Carabao Cup tie against Peterborough United in August.

He would go on to play in the first six of the Pilgrims’ Papa Johns Trophy fixtures, as well as making his league debut when coming on as a substitute against Milton Keynes Dons in January.

Showing a hard-working attitude and no little skill, Jack was rewarded for his endeavour by being offered his first professional contract, on completion of his apprenticeship.

9.37pm - Next, we have the Breakthrough Prospect Award, sponsored by Touching Cloth Upholstery. The award is given to the player who has shown promise in their first proper involvement with their respective first team.

Argyle have the best home record in the EFL, the joint-highest points tally, the most goal contributions from substitutes, the most points coming from behind, the most wins in a season for any Argyle team - the stats keep on coming.

9.15pm - Simon Hallett is addressing the room. "What can I say? Champions." Not a bad opening, Chairman...
