Argyle enter their first game in the post-Schumacher era, as they take on Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City at Home Park on Saturday.

Last time out, the Greens enjoyed another last-minute winner as they beat the leagues bottom side Rotherham United 3-2. In a game which saw Ryan Hardie and Mustapha Bundu both suffer injuries in just the space of 10-minutes, not too long after Jamie Lindsay put the visitors ahead. Azaz equalised just before the half-break with a penalty and then put Argyle in front. Tom Eaves brought the Millers level before Morgan Whittaker poked the ball into the back of the net deep into injury time to secure another important victory.

There has been quite a change since Argyle last faced Birmingham earlier on this season, John Eustace was sacked and was replaced by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney. Rooney hasn’t had the easiest of starts to life as the new Blues’ Head Coach having lost seven of his 11 games in charge. But fortunes look like they are starting to change at Birmingham, with a good win over Cardiff City and an impressive performance despite defeat against Leicester City in their last two matches. Rooney will be hoping to get the third victory as they travel to Home Park on Saturday.

Supporters will be able to follow all the action live on Argyle TV throughout the afternoon. Coverage starts with our pre-match show from 2pm where Erin Black will be joined by former Argyle defender Marc Edworthy and Charlie Price will be joined by former Argyle Women’s captain Katie Middleton for commentary.
