Club Statement | Bim Pepple

Home Park

Following yesterday’s game, our striker Bim Pepple was subject to vile racist abuse across his social media platforms.

Late last night, Bim informed us of this and showed us screenshots of the accounts and the messages he had received. These have now been shared with the Police and Meta to be investigated.

We will do everything possible to support Bim and hold those responsible to account.

Why did he receive these messages? Because he didn’t score a penalty in a football match. We’re all human.

Why does Bim deserve to receive messages of this nature?

Well, the answer is simple. He doesn’t. Nor do any of our players or staff, and we stand with Bim and everyone at the football club, because we are One Argyle and against abuse of any kind.

The actions of small-minded individuals will never impact that, and we know the Green Army will support Bim in any way he needs.

We will continue to champion the various activities across football, including the EFL’s “Together Against Racism” campaign, as clearly the message isn’t getting through.

We won’t stop until it does and before you send that message, just think. Think about the person who reads it.

For now, our final words are for Bim.

Bim, we are all with you, you are part of the Argyle family and have the full support of everyone at the football club.

To report abuse, anti-social behaviour, or other offences at a Plymouth Argyle game or online, text ARGYLE and your message to 66777.
