Dedicated to the NHS
While we are once again asking the Green Army to bring their brilliant support for Ryan Lowe’s high-flying Pilgrims on Tuesday night, we are also encouraging fans to express their gratitude for another team delivering outstanding work at the Theatre of Greens.
The visit of Crewe Alexandra marks our dedicated NHS fixture, providing the club with the opportunity to celebrate our partnership over the past 18 months, thanking our healthcare heroes in the process.
Since the very beginning of the pandemic, Argyle and the NHS have collaborated on projects to combat COVID-19. When lockdown was announced, club officials acted swiftly to hand over the Mayflower Grandstand for antenatal and phlebotomy use. Once the vaccine rollout began, the Mayflower Grandstand became the site for a mass vaccination centre, and -thanks to the sterling work of health professionals and volunteers – over 250,000 vaccinations have been administered at the site since.
Over 1,000 tickets have been generated for NHS staff, volunteers, and their families for the game against the Alex - with the club opting to donate over 400 tickets to NHS workers, volunteers and their families on top of the 550 tickets generated through our Crowdfunder campaign in 2020, and 50 tickets generously pledged by supporters in the same scheme.
Meanwhile, a number of NHS delegates will also attend Club Argyle as special guests, with a mutual presentation taking place to immortalise the ground-breaking partnership.
In the build-up to kick off, a spectacular lights show will take place within the stadium, while Argyle Chairman Simon Hallett will give a pitch-side speech ahead of a minute’s applause pre kick-off.
It promises to be an emotional and uplifting night – and that’s before a ball is even kicked. Tickets are still available, with kids’ entry starting at £1.
