Argyle Women have amicably agreed to part ways with Imy Crawford and Katie Dickson.
The duo have been a part of the Greens’ core squad for several years but have opted to terminate their contracts for personal reasons.
Imy joined Argyle in 2020, making nine appearances in her debut season, before going on to feature 137 times across six years, scoring 10 goals and captaining the Pilgrims on multiple occasions.
Katie arrived in PL2 in 2022, after moving to Plymouth for university, and made 84 appearances in green, scoring five goals across four years.
Imy said: “Argyle has been a huge part of my life. Playing for my childhood club over the last six years has given me memories, through the tough times and the good, that I’ll never forget.
“Whilst deciding to leave was never an easy decision, I feel now is the right time for me to step away from football due to full-time employment commitments and personal reasons. I’d like to thank everyone for all the support over the years. Wearing the green shirt has meant everything to me.”
Katie said: “Since arriving in Plymouth from Northern Ireland in 2022, Argyle has felt like a home to me. The people who welcomed me then and have been around with me now, in the current, all mean so much to me, and I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have arisen through my time with the club.
“I am really sad to leave. It was a decision that took some time to come to, but I had to choose between football and my future career in dentistry. Due to the extreme difficulty of managing both, I had to prioritise my career. Thank you all for the support over the years. Argyle will always hold a place in my heart.”
Christian Kent, Executive Lead for Women’s Football at Argyle, said: “I would like to wish both Imy and Katie all the best for the future in their respective careers and education.
“The two have been integral parts of the history of the club, but also in the transition under the club umbrella in recent years. They have dedicated parts of their life to Argyle Women, and we will be forever grateful for all the commitment and effort they have shown. They are both always welcome at Home Park with open arms.”
We would all like to wish Imy and Katie the absolute best for whatever comes next in their careers, on and off the pitch.
