Fans' Guide | Huddersfield Town (H)

Fixtures

The wait is over and football is finally returning to Home Park Stadium. And not just any football, Sky Bet Championship football for the first time since 2010.

Neil Warnock and Huddersfield Town are the visitors for the opening competitive game of the season, with the Green Army selling out Home Park weeks in advance of the match.

With this being the first home fixture of the campaign, we wanted to remind our loyal fan base, and any Huddersfield Town fans of some important information to be aware of.

Please read our Argyle v Huddersfield Town fans guide below.

Fans' Guide | Huddersfield Town (H)

Tickets sold out

Excitement has been building throughout the summer ahead of Argyle's return to the Sky Bet Championship and tickets for the opening game of the season are completely sold out.

Turnstiles will open two hours before kick-off, from 1pm. Supporters are advised to enter through the turnstile identified on their match ticket. However, if neighbouring turnstiles have shorter queues, supporters are permitted to enter these to speed up access to the stadium.

If you can no longer make the game, please aim to utilise our Ticket Exchange which gives season-ticket holders the ability to sell their designated seat at face value to other supporters. Season-ticket holders will have until three hours prior to kick-off to repost their tickets. If they sell, then their ticket account will be credited with the respective value, as per the the table below.

Beacon Electrical Mayflower Grandstand Fan Zone

Saturday's fixture will see the launch of our new Beacon Electrical Mayflower Grandstand Fan Zone which has been installed over the summer months.

This has been introduced to continue to improve the matchday experience for the loyal Green Army and provide further services for those fans who like to get into Home Park early.

The Fan Zone will serve further food and drink options, provide seating and undercover areas as well as live entertainment. A stage will be in place with live music ahead of kick-off and there will also be an array of children's entertainment for the younger members of our loyal fan base.

Matchday Bus Services

We have launched five new dedicated football special bus services that will run on matchdays (league games only), from various areas of the city, directly to Home Park, returning again after the game.

Introducing these new services showcases a demonstrable commitment to the club’s environmental objectives and ambitions to reduce the overall collective carbon footprint of supporters travelling to Home Park on match days, and will also serve to reduce traffic congestion and demand for parking at the ground and in nearby residential streets.

The five services will be: Coypool Park and Ride, The George Park and Ride, Plympton, Plymstock and Saltash.

The Coypool and George services will run two trips to Home Park pre-match, while the Plympton, Plymstock and Saltash services will run once.

Timetables are available here.

Prices are as follows: £5 per person for a return for the Coypool and George services and £6 per person return for the Plympton, Plymstock and Saltash services.

As this is a dedicated football service, supporters should note that bus passes and other concessions will not apply and a ticket will need to be purchased in order to travel.

Hybrid stadium payment system

During the summer we reviewed areas of the business where we felt service or operations could be better, as we do on an ongoing basis.

One of the priority areas was kiosks around the stadium and importantly speed of service.

After taking on board comments from supporters and following our own internal review, we have decided to take a step towards becoming a cashless stadium. This will commence from Saturday's fixture.

Kiosks throughout the stadium and all hospitality areas will become fully cashless, with cash accepted in all other parts of Home Park Stadium.

Cashless kiosks and hospitality areas bring a number of benefits to the club, but also supporters. These include:

  • Increased speed of service and shorter queuing times
  • Improved hygiene with less cash handling taking place
  • A cost and time saving impact for the club

We would encourage supporters to continue to use card, contactless card or mobile payments such as Apple Pay throughout the stadium where possible.

Coronation Avenue temporary closure

Sorry for the inconvenience but Coronation Avenue is temporarily closed while work is completed on the Central Park Ponds Project.

There will be diversions available around Jubilee Row or Pounds Park while the work is ongoing. Please plan ahead of time for the diversions to ensure you reach Home Park in suitable time.

Plymouth Pride

A reminder to fans that Plymouth Pride will take place in Central Park this Saturday alongside our opening fixture.

As a result we are expecting the surrounding area of Home Park Stadium to be extremely busy and the Park & Ride Car Park to fill up even earlier than usual.

We would encourage supporters to be respectful of both events running simultaneously and prepare for your journeys accordingly ahead of time.

New half-time challenge for 2023/24 season

A new half-time challenge will be introduced for the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship season, beginning this Saturday against Huddersfield Town.

Each league game the club will pick two fans to play, who will get one attempt each to try and pass the ball as close to the centre spot as possible from the halfway line touchline. The distance away from the centre circle will then be measured, and we will keep a running leaderboard over the course of the season.

At the final league game, the top three overall on the leaderboard will return to participate in the grand final, where each participant will take part again. Whoever is closest to the centre spot in the grand final will take home a cash prize of £1,000.

Argyle TV

Supporters unable to attend Saturday's Sky Bet Championship opening fixture against Huddersfield Town can now purchase their Argyle TV match pass for the clash at Home Park.

With video streaming for this fixture prohibited in domestic territories, Argyle TV subscriptions and audio match passes are the only way to follow every kick of the action live in the UK without being at the game – and the passes cost just £2.50.

However, live video streaming is available for international subscribers to Argyle TV and can be purchased for £10, audio match passes can also be purchased for this fixture by overseas Pilgrims, enabling supporters to follow the action wherever you are in the world, and whatever you are doing.

Build-up to the match begins at 2pm with our pre-match show hosted by Erin Black who will be joined by Katie Middleton. You can get all the team news, watch exclusive interviews, and hear from inside the dressing room as well as getting all the pre-match chat free of charge either on Argyle TV or on the club’s YouTube channel.

Dial-a-Ride

we are delighted to be working together with Access Plymouth once again in 2023/24 to run their Dial-a-Ride service.

Offering a bespoke door-to-door service for supporters with access needs, the buses provide a crucial means of helping those who may otherwise struggle to attend matches, allowing them to be conveniently picked up from their homes and returned after the game.

We are committed to providing sustainable transport options and making supporters’ match-day travel arrangements as simple and straightforward as possible. This service supports both of these ambitions by providing a bespoke and convenient service for those with access requirements, while also serving to reduce traffic congestion and alleviate the need for parking at Home Park.

Pricing starts from £5 and includes the return journey from the stadium.

1-2 Miles - £5
3-4 Miles - £7
5-8 Miles - £12
Over 8 Miles - £15
Careers fee - £3

Bookings are now open for the new season, and we would encourage supporters with access requirements who require support with their match-day travel arrangements to contact Access Plymouth directly on 01752 600633, or via email at: admin@accessplymouth.co.uk.

Matchday Programme

Copies of our award-winning matchday programme, The Pilgrim, are once again available around the stadium for purchase at £3.50, while a limited number will also be available to purchase from the Argyle Superstore.

Our 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship programme subscription service is also now available for sign ups.

The popular subscription service will be the only way supporters can guarantee that they receive a copy of The Pilgrim, for each and every home game this season.

The subscription model offers both home delivery and click and collect options, allowing supporters to select the most efficient delivery method for their circumstances.

Please note that the subscription is only available for the Pilgrims’ 2023/24 league fixtures, and cup programmes will be available to purchase from the Argyle Superstore and online.

Disabled supporters

For any accessibility or match-day support queries, our dedicated Disability Liaison Officer can be contacted on disability@pafc.co.uk.

Security

Supporters should be prepared to be searched by our security team as they enter the stadium.

Wherever possible, we will ensure that 'wand' searches are also undertaken by members of the same gender. If that is not the case upon entry, and you feel at all uncomfortable, please raise this with a member of the security team - who will make the necessary arrangements.

As with all major sporting events, bringing bags to the stadium is actively discouraged. However, fans arriving at Home Park with a small personal bag (for example, medical bags or handbags) capable of being stowed under seats is permitted. Please note, supporters should expect this to be searched before entry.

We ask that supporters arrive in plenty of time to avoid queues forming as kick-off approaches.

Parking

Outland Road Car Park, adjacent to Home Park is a very large – and free! – car park. It is council-run, and is typically a park-and-ride car park into the city. It is free to use on match-days, but will obviously begin to fill up very early for many fixtures, especially local derbies, Bank Holiday fixtures, etc. Plymouth Pride is also taking place this weekend so we are expecting the Car Park to be even busier.

Additional street parking is available surrounding Home Park, but please be mindful of local residents, park sensibly, and be aware of any parking restrictions and permit areas. Considerations should include:

  • Don’t park on double yellow lines
  • Please avoid dropped kerbs in front of people’s houses
  • Please avoid parking on junctions
  • Please display a blue badge if you have one

There are also several large pay and display car parks in the city centre, which is within walking distance of Home Park, but not advised for those who struggle to walk beyond short distances.

Argyle Merchandise

The Argyle Superstore, located next to the Home Park Ticket Office by the main entrance to the Mayflower Grandstand, is open until 30 minutes after full-time.

In addition to the Superstore, there is a large pop-up retail outlet located on the corner of the Babcock Devonport End, stocking all supporter favourites - this is open until kick-off.

An additional retail kiosk is available inside the stadium, in the concourse of the Portcullis Legals Lyndhurst Road Stand.

Evergreen

The Evergreen Suite, adjacent to the Home Park Ticket Office, is open from 12-3pm ahead of the game.

Match officials to adopt a new approach

Match officials in the EFL will adopt a new approach to timekeeping in the 2023/24 campaign.

In line with the most recent IFAB guidance, the EFL and PGMOL are committed to ensuring a more accurate calculation of additional time alongside an improvement in the amount of time the ball is in play from the start of the new season.

The changes include enhancing the length of time the ball is in play, the treatment of players for injury, denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, the offside rule, the high threshold and participant behaviour.

For further information on the rule changes please click here.

Season ticket collection

Argyle fans are reminded to head to the ticket office as soon as possible to ensure they have their season tickets in time for Saturday's fixture against Huddersfield.

Season tickets will not be able to be collected on matchdays.

Concession kiosks will be open, serving a range of food and beverages.

There will be a discount of 25% on all products purchased from food and beverage kiosks inside the stadium between 1pm-1.45pm.

Outside the stadium

On your approach to Home Park, you will notice a number of external catering venues offering hot food and refreshments. Please note that prices and menus at these outlets are not controlled by the club, and are subject to change. There is also a food court inside the Beacon Electrical Mayflower Grandstand Fan Zone, offering a range of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, as well as offering fresh and delicious food.
