Argyle Women's under-16 girls duo of Mia Endacott and Taya Pomfret have been called up by England to join the under-16s National Talent Camp in August.

The national recognition follows last week's announcement that another promising young talent, Roxy Thomas, received a call-up to the under-15 set-up.

This flurry of national selection is nothing new for the emerging Women's programme at Argyle under the leadership of Ryan Perks, with Mari Ward and Endacott both selected to represent their country last season after trials at the England camp as part of the Lioness Talent Pathway.

Talented striker Mia has been with Argyle since the age of nine. Endacott, daughter of Commonwealth Games champion sprinter Katherine,  plays her local grassroots football for Lakeside Athletic under-15 Boys and plays at county level for Devon under-16s.

Mia had the honour of making her international debut for England under-16s against Portugal last season, and was recently named a 'local legend' by the Trust, as part of the Premier League's 'Kicks' programme, for her dedication to football and for inspiring other young people.

Taya is a centre back who has also been at the club since the age of nine. A great character, Taya has shown her versatility having played in midfield and defence during her time with Argyle.

Argyle Community Trust Head of Women & Girls' Football, Ryan Perks, said: "I am delighted for the girls and this is further demonstration of the strength of our thriving female player pathway here in Plymouth.

“Mia and Taya are incredibly talented footballers and are a pleasure to work with. I look forward to continuing their journey, further developing them, and watching their progress in the future."

Congratulations, Mia and Taya!
