Argyle have signed midfielder Harvey White.
The highly-rated 24-year-old starred last season for Stevenage, as the Hertfordshire side finished sixth and reached the Sky Bet League One play-offs. He played 50 times, scoring six goals, impressing in the heart of midfield.
White was offered a new deal to remain at the Lamex Stadium, but has opted to head to the South West to become a Pilgrim. He has signed a three-year contract, which will officially begin on 1 July.
Kent-born White came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur, playing nine times in the EFL Trophy for Spurs, as well as one appearance each in the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.
White had a loan spell with Portsmouth, in League One, in the second half of the 2020/21 season, playing 22 games. He had a similar loan with Derby County, two seasons later, playing 15 times.
He moved on to Stevenage in 2023, and has steadily established himself as a key figure at the Boro, playing 118 times in all.
“I’m really pleased that we have secured Harvey’s signing,” said Head Coach Tom Cleverley. “I saw him play several times last season, including against us, and he impressed me with how well he used the ball, how he reads the game, and how much he influences play.
“He is left-footed, has very good set-piece delivery, and I am looking forward to working with him.”
Argyle Director of Football Derek Adams added: “The addition of Harvey complements our other midfielders nicely.
“He had a very good season for Stevenage, and previously did well at Portsmouth and Derby, on loan from Spurs, so comes to us ready to kick on with the next phase of his career. At 24, he has some experience under his belt, and still has scope to develop even further.”
The signing is subject to EFL approval.
