Freddie Issaka and Joe Hatch have been called up to represent Wales Under-17s.

The two young Pilgrims will be part of the squad to take on France twice in three days, with games in Clairefontaine on Wednesday, 28 September and Friday, 30 September. The games are in preparation for the upcoming UEFA Under-17 qualifying rounds in October.

Joe and Freddie each took part in three games for Wales Under-16s in a tournament in April, with both scoring in a 2-2 draw against Spain, and Hatch getting on the scoresheet in a 4-4 draw with Turkey.

Academy Manager Phil Stokes said: "We are pleased for both Freddie and Joe after a positive start to the season, Joe has scored three goals in three games for the Under-18s in the league and Freddie scored a brace in the Youth Alliance Cup away at Leyton Orient.

"This is another opportunity for them to test themselves and continue their development at international level with fixtures against a strong France side next week. They will travel to Wales following our Youth Alliance Cup fixture against Stevenage on Saturday afternoon."
