Home Park Stadium Open for Business
Having played its part as a mass vaccination centre, phlebotomy hub and antenatal clinic over the past 18 months, the Mayflower Grandstand and Home Park Stadium will once again return to a full-time hospitality, events and conferencing venue from 30 September.
With the NHS and Public Health England vaccination centre changing format at the end of next month, the Mayflower Grandstand will return to its intended function, as a unique and versatile events space for up to 700 guests, year-round.
Despite the COVID-19 interruption to the first 18 months of the refurbished Mayflower Grandstand’s existence, the events calendar at Home Park is already filling up, with a range of events, conferences and functions scheduled for the final quarter of 2021 – with bookings also coming in thick and fast for Christmas and New Year festivities.
From gala dinners to industry conferences, Home Park’s emerging reputation as a leading and versatile events destination in the South West is an encouraging sign, according to our Head of Venue, Christian Kent.
He said: “We all know how challenging the past year and a half has been for the events and hospitality sector, but it’s really pleasing to see the demand for the spaces at Home Park is still strong.
“The situation [COVID-19] has not provided us with the easiest of routes to launching a venue with the scope and potential that Home Park has, but I feel we’ve navigated the challenges really well, and the quality of the facilities, alongside the stunning backdrop of the pitch and stadium, has proven as popular as we had hoped.
“The venue fills a real gap in the market for the region, and it doesn’t just cater to those interest in Argyle. We are finding that a lot of our event bookings come from guests who have had little or no exposure to Argyle, with free parking on site, a convenient location and the rail network within walking distance, we’re really well placed to build on our early success in the coming months.”
With social distancing measures relaxed and a vast proportion of the community now fully vaccinated, our dedicated events co-ordinator at Home Park is now taking bookings for Christmas and New Year’s, as well year-round events, conferences, weddings and dinners – with all catering options delivered by our experienced hospitality team using the finest fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
