Bradley Ibrahim considers Saturday’s trip to Lincoln City to be a big game for Argyle, as the Greens look to pick up their first points of the Sky Bet League One season.
Argyle have lost their opening two league fixtures, to Barnsley and Bolton Wanderers, and then beat Queens Park Rangers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
“I definitely think it's a really big game for us,” the midfielder told Argyle TV. “I think it's a chance for us to set some things right. We've missed out on two opportunities to pick up points already in the league.
“I feel that we have to win the game, and I feel that we go into every game thinking we have to win. I think that's a mindset we have to have if we want to reach our goals this season.
“The gaffer set out that we’re a team that wants to go up, and we're not going to shy away from that and hide from it because we’ve lost two games.
“Lincoln's a really tough place to go. I played there last year. Their fans are really good, it's a hard place to go, but we're definitely going with the mindset that we're going to win.
“In the first game, we missed out on the opportunity of getting a home win. We’ve been reflecting on that, and I think we saw on Tuesday a little teaser of what we can be, that we are a really good side when we do everything right.
“I feel like we still conceded some sloppy goals. We looked at that, reflected on that and we are well aware of that. I think for the majority of the game we dominated.”
Ibrahim is one of a large number of summer arrivals for Argyle, but feels they are gelling well as a unit under new boss Tom Cleverley. Bradley is one of five players who have started all three games so far and, as the Pilgrims set out on the long journey to Lincoln, is focusing on his mental approach to the fixture.
He said: “The body feels great; just ready to go. Obviously, we have to travel quite far for every game, and we've got another away trip coming up on Saturday, so I think the mind's the most important bit to rest. The body takes care of itself.
“When you step out, you feel the fans, you feel the energy, you are always ready to go, but the mind, I think you need to rest, recover, and accept the journeys and stuff.
“We're all very new to each other. We’ve got a lot of new players, a lot of new signings, and we're adapting every day. The level in training every day is going up, up, up. I feel like one thing I would say is with the group, we've never had a time where everyone's not committed. I feel like from the first day in training there's tackles flying in, which is healthy.
“I feel like we're all dedicated. I'll never have to question, when I look to my left or right in the changing room, that the person next to me is going to be dedicated and trying their hardest. Everyone, every day, gives their all. It's only a matter of time until it all comes together.”
