The Story So Far
On Saturday, 27 January, Argyle and Leeds met at Elland Road in the original cup tie. Leeds were on top in the first half, and took the lead via Jaidon Anthony after 31 minutes. Argyle fought back and equalised through an Adam Randell goal with 17 minutes remaining, sending the tie to a replay.

Argyle also played Leeds in the Sky Bet Championship, at Elland Road in November, losing the game 2-1. Daniel James and Joel Piroe scored before the half-hour mark, with Ben Waine getting one back for Argyle with six minutes to go.

The Opposition
The draw with Argyle is the only game in the last seven games that Leeds have failed to win. Prior to Argyle's visit they had won league games against Birmingham City, Cardiff City, Preston North End and Cardiff City. Amongst those results was a 3-0 win away at Peterborough United in the third round of the FA Cup. On Friday night, Leeds won 1-0 at Bristol City, with Willy Gnonto scoring the goal.

Leeds are third in the league, one point behind second-placed Southampton.

The Gaffer
Daniel Farke began his managerial career at SV Lippstadt, a club he played for during his playing career. He lifted Lippstadt from the sixth tier of German football to the fourth, and eventually took the job as the manager of Borussia Dortmund's second team.

In 2017, he joined Norwich City as manager, in the Championship, and won the second-tier title in his second season at Carrow Road. They were relegated straight away, but the following season topped the Championship once again. However, after a poor start, Farke was dismissed.

After leaving Norwich, he signed a deal to take over at Krasnodar in Russia, but left before a game was played, because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Last season, with Borussia Monchengladbach, Farke led the side to a mid-table finish, and was sacked in the summer.

The Squad
The Leeds team from the initial cup tie was: 1 Illan Meslier (gk), 4 Ethan Ampadu, 6 Liam Cooper (capt), 7 Joel Piroe, 12 Jaidon Anthony, 14 Joe Rodon, 17 Jamie Shackleton (9 Patrick Bamford 82), 24 Georginio Rutter (49 Mateo Joseph 89), 25 Sam Byram (3 Junior Firpo 82), 29 Wilfried Gnonto (27 Ian Poveda 74), 44 Ilia Gruev. Substitutes (not used): 13 Kris Klaesson (gk), 55 Harry Christy (gk), 5 Charlie Cresswell, 8 Glen Kamara, 30 Joe Gelhardt.

Six of those players started Leeds' 1-0 win at Bristol City last weekend, with a further three coming on as substitutes.

As of 10am on the day of the game, a very small number of single tickets remain in the home sections of the ground.
