Our latest 'loan watch' feature takes a look at our loanees' performances over the course of September, and the first weekend of October.

--

Nathanael Ogbeta has continued his contributions in a Barnsley shirt, starting the month's fixtures with two assists in a 3-2 win over Reading.

The full-back also earned 90 minutes in the following league matches against Blackpool and Port Vale, though these were both defeats. The Tykes then began October with a 2-2 draw away to Wycombe Wanderers. They are now ninth in Sky Bet League One.

Additionally, Barnsley's Carabao Cup run ended in the third round at the hands of Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, in which Ogbeta played 58 minutes.

Callum Wright featured in four league games for Wigan Athletic during the month, scoring away to Lincoln City in a 2-2 draw, and picking up an assist in a 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers.

These matches preceded defeats to Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City. Wright then couldn't play against Argyle in the October opener, as per the terms of his loan. That 1-1 draw leaves the Latics 14th in the table.

Like Ogbeta's Barnsley, Wigan exited the Carabao Cup in the third round, losing 2-0 to Wycombe.

Over in Qatar, Michael Baidoo made two appearances for Umm Salal in September, before suffering an injury that has seen him sidelined since.

In the QSL Cup, his loan side are fourth out of 20 in the round-robin stage, most recently winning 3-1 against Al-Shamal. The top 14 sides progress to the knockout rounds.

In the league, Umm Salal are eighth out of 12. Baidoo only played once in the league last month, a 4-2 loss to Al-Duhail.

Freddie Issaka is yet to get his chance for Bristol Rovers, making brief sub appearances in a win against Barrow and a draw with Colchester United. He then started his October schedule off the bench, in defeat to Walsall. The Gas are 12th in Sky Bet League Two.

Jack Matthews made a brief cameo for Bath City in a 0-0 draw with Chesham United, before playing a full 90 against Chelmsford City, losing 1-0. The defender didn't feature in the Romans' Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round defeat to Wimborne Town, and was unavailable for last weekend's 2-2 draw with Farnborough, due to injury.

Joe Hatch won a penalty on his Taunton Town debut, as the Peacocks drew 1-1 with Weston-super-Mare in the Emirates FA Cup, before going out in the replay. The Somerset side then lost 4-0 to Farnham Town in the league, but bounced back with a 4-1 triumph at Dorchester Town, in which Hatch was a second-half substitute.

Last weekend, Taunton lost 2-1 to AFC Portchester, exiting the Isuzu FA Trophy. Their full focus is now on the Southern League Premier South, where they sit sixth.
