Matt Green has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Argyle Women’s team.
Matt has been a coach with Argyle for many years, was Assistant Head Coach last season, and has been in charge of overseeing the Argyle Women’s Player Pathway.
He will be supported by Argyle Director of Football Derek Adams, Assistant Head Coach Jon Dawe and further support staff.
“I am delighted to be given the role of Head Coach,” said Matt. “I have been involved with the Argyle Women’s team for many years, and it is an honour to be given the chance to take charge of the team.
“Working with the Pathway, I know how many really talented young players we have, and it is exciting to be the one that will get to nurture them into the first team and to develop their abilities further.
“I am also very pleased that Jon will assist me. We have worked together for years; he shares my passion for Argyle in general and the women’s team specifically. He is an excellent coach, well connected in the area, and we complement each other well.
“With Derek overviewing the project, I am very confident we will be able to steer Argyle Women into next season and beyond.”
Argyle CEO Paul Berne added: “I am pleased that Matt and Jon have agreed to stay on and to take us forward into next season.
“It is good to have continuity, and both men are embedded into Argyle. The players in the pathway know Matt and Jon well, and they in turn are perfectly placed to help the players develop in line with our long-term structure.
“I wish them well for the forthcoming season, and beyond.”
