Argyle Women’s forward Phoebie Poole has been voted the club’s Player of the Month for November.
The Greens’ number nine netted three times in four games, with her brace against Gwalia United securing Argyle’s place in the third round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup and her goal being the winner in the FAWNL Cup Round of 16. However, she was sent off near the end of the Gwalia win.
Phoebie won the supporters’ poll with 55% of the vote, ahead of Arabella Suttie, Ellie Noble and Caitlin Smith.
Poole said: “I’m very happy to win Player of the Month and want to say thanks to everyone who voted for me. Credit goes to the whole team, though. I couldn’t have done it without them, and a massive thanks to all the staff as well and all the people who help me personally behind the scenes, on and off the pitch.
“Hopefully, as a team, we can keep going in the same direction. We’re working hard, supporting each other, and if we keep that up, it’ll lead to the reward we all want.
“For me, this is such good motivation to keep doing what I’m doing. It makes me want to work even harder for the club and is definitely a confidence booster. Hopefully, we can continue to get the results we want, which is the main goal.
“I also would like to apologise and say how disappointed I am with the red card in our last game. I feel genuinely sorry for the team and the fans. It’s been a learning moment for me. I’m still developing as a young player, and experiences like that really remind you how important it is to stay focused and in control on the pitch."
