Argyle’s run in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup continues this weekend with a third-round clash away from home against Oxford United.

Argyle’s previous fixture, against London Seaward, saw Ryan Perks' side score four goals, keep a clean sheet, and added another win to a fantastic run of form in domestic cups this season.

“Even before the cup run the performance levels have been high,” said Perks. “We're improving as a side week-by-week, and we’ve seen that over the last two weeks. We’ve probably been expected to go into those games and win but there are banana skins and potential upsets that could be around any corner and especially in cup football. The girls have been professional and got two incredibly positive results.”

Oxford United Women are the Greens’ next opponents in their long spell away from home. The U’s sit top of the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division with 24 points. Their previous result in the FA Cup was a 13-0 win over Liskeard Athletic but despite their impressive run of form and previous result, Perks is eager to continue the positive spell of form for Argyle

“Oxford are flying and are top of the league at the moment by a margin,” he said. “They’re a well-organised side and play some great football so we know it's going to be a tough draw. Our previous match, although they won, was a game of two halves and since that match, we’ve come a long way so hopefully, we can give a good account of ourselves and keep progressing into the cup.”

The game will be held at Court Place Farm, kick-off is at 2pm. Tickets for the match are free. If you cannot make it to the game, then updates are available on social media @ArgyleWFC.
