Promotion Parade to Take Place on Monday

Argyle will celebrate a return to the Sky Bet Championship for the first time since 2010 with an array of activities across the city this Monday, 8 May.

The management team and first-team squad will come together with fans to celebrate the momentous achievement and recognise the support of the Green Army throughout the season.

The celebratory event will feature a traditional open-top bus parade but, before that, something a little different to acknowledge the natural beauty of Plymouth Sound.

The squad and staff will climb aboard four beautiful Princess Yachts, our luxury yacht partner, and depart at 11am, bound for the Barbican, passing past Royal William Yard and the Hoe along the way.

The yachts will arrive at the Barbican landing stage before the players and staff will head on to three open-top buses, kindly provided by Plymouth CityBus, who are the sleeve sponsor for Argyle Women, to tour the city.

The parade will begin at approximately midday, taking in a route to Home Park. At the bottom of the page is a map of the route, which will take the following form:

  • Start: Barbican Landing Stage
  • Madeira Road
  • Hoe Road
  • Grand Parade
  • West Hoe Road
  • Notte Street
  • Bretonside
  • Kinterbury Street
  • Royal Parade
  • Union Street
  • Western Approach
  • Saltash Road
  • Alma Road
  • Outland Road
  • End: Home Park

Buses should arrive at Home Park at approximately 12.30pm.

The Portcullis Legals Lyndhurst Road Stand will be open for supporters to show their appreciation for the promotion-winning squad, who will be presented to the crowd, with interviews will be conducted with staff and players. Food and drink kiosks will be open for supporters.

As the whole event will take place outdoors, we urge all supporters to wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions.

Every part of the parade is free to attend. We encourage supporters to line themselves along the full parade route, wearing your colours and waving scarves and flags to show support to our promotion-winning Pilgrims.

Be loud, be safe, and enjoy the day!
