Removing Barriers: Brunel Helps Plymouth Argyle Tackle Period Poverty at Home Park

Home Park Stadium will once again work with Brunel to provide club-branded sanitary product dispensers and a year's supply of sanitary products, helping to tackle period poverty and remove barriers for supporters and visitors.

The donation sees branded sanitary dispensers installed throughout the stadium, ensuring that essential period products are readily available free of charge for supporters, staff, volunteers and visitors attending matchdays and events at Home Park.

The initiative forms part of the club's ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive and accessible environment for everyone who visits the stadium.

Period poverty remains a significant issue across the UK, with many people facing barriers to accessing essential sanitary products. By making these products freely available throughout the stadium, Argyle and Brunel are helping to remove one of those barriers, ensuring that nobody's experience is negatively impacted by a lack of access to period care products.

The donation of a full year's supply of sanitary products will ensure the dispensers remain fully stocked and accessible throughout the season, benefiting thousands of visitors who attend football matches, conferences, community activities and other events hosted at Home Park.

Plymouth Argyle's Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Manager, Siobhan Robbie-James, said: "At Plymouth Argyle, we are committed to making Home Park as welcoming, inclusive and accessible as possible for everyone who comes through our doors. Access to period products is something many people need but can often be overlooked.

"We are incredibly grateful to Brunel for their generosity in donating both the dispensers and a year's worth of products. Building on our four-year initiative allows us to continue our efforts to tackle period poverty, support the wellbeing of our supporters and visitors, and remove potential barriers that may prevent people from fully enjoying matchdays and events at Home Park."

Ellie Venables, Finance Manager from Brunel, said: "We are proud to work closely with Plymouth Argyle on an initiative that supports dignity, inclusion and accessibility. Everyone should feel comfortable and supported when attending sporting events and community activities, and we are pleased that these dispensers and products will make a meaningful difference to so many people throughout the year."

The installation of the dispensers represents another step forward in Argyle's commitment to ensuring Home Park is a stadium for everyone. By working alongside community-minded partners such as Brunel, the club continues to identify ways to improve the matchday experience and create an environment where all supporters feel welcomed, valued and supported.
