Argyle will be making their longest away trip of the season as they head to North East to take on Sunderland today.

The last time the two sides met at the Stadium of Light was in December 2021. It was Steven Schumacher’s second game in charge as manager, and Argyle fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat. Argyle's record at the Stadium of Light is not bad, though, and includes two wins from five visits to Sunderland's current ground.

When the sides met in the Sky Bet Championship this season, at Home Park, Argyle won 2-0, with goals from Morgan Whittaker and Finn Azaz.

Since then, there has been a change in the Sunderland dugout. Tony Mowbray was sacked by the club in early December with former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers head coach Michael Beale arriving as his replacement.

Supporters will be able to follow all the action for today's game live on Argyle TV throughout the afternoon. Coverage starts with our pre-match show from 2pm where Alex Wood will be joined by former Argyle forward Ian Stonebridge. Then, from 3pm, Nathan Albon will be joined by Lee Makel for commentary.

Audio passes are available for commentary inside the UK for £2.50 and streaming passes for international fans are available for £10.
