Three Argyle players called up for November internationals

Conor Hazard

Three Argyle players are set for action during the November international window.

Goalkeeper Conor Hazard retains his place in the Northern Ireland squad, for a pair of crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Michael O'Neill's side have impressed in recent months, and now find themselves three points off the top two in the group, heading into the final two matches.

First, they travel to Košice to face Slovakia, who currently occupy second place, the play-off berth. In the reverse fixture, Northern Ireland won 2-0 at Windsor Park. A victory this time would be gargantuan, a draw would not be disastrous.

Then, Hazard's side face Luxembourg in their final match, in Belfast, while Slovakia travel to Leipzig to face Germany. Six points from the two games would likely be enough to secure a play-off spot at least, four points would give them a chance.

Brendan Galloway will have been pleased to be given the full 90 for Zimbabwe in their last World Cup qualifier, against Lesotho, as he competes for a starting spot at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

The defender is in the Warriors' squad for friendlies against strong opposition in Algeria and Qatar.

Starting in December, Zimbabwe will compete at AFCON in a group with South Africa, Egypt, and Angola, with these upcoming matches set to be vital preparation for the tournament.

Law McCabe is back in action for England Under-20s, in another St George's Park training camp.

This time, though, the Young Lions will contest a friendly in front of a crowd, taking on Japan Under-20s at Doncaster Rovers' Eco-Power Stadium.
