Three New Academy Recruits

At Saturday’s first-team game against Southampton, we welcomed three new recruits to the Argyle Academy.

Billy Devlin (Under-15s), Ben Miles (Under-13s) and Jacob Hare (Under-12s) have all been recruited into their respective age groups, and signed their papers as Argyle met the Saints in the Championship.

Billy, from Plymouth, joins us having developed his skills with MAP Juniors and Juventus Devon. He played every game in Argyle’s recent successful SuperCup campaign in Northern Ireland, as we came away with a third-place finish.

Ben and Jacob, from Newton Abbot and Paignton respectively, have both played for Saints Southwest, with Ben also having represented WBB Youth.

All three boys join the Academy at a great time, as the system continues to grow and develop. They will hope to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Mike Cooper and Adam Randell, as well a host of players making their first steps into the first-team environment.

Adam Hayman, Head of Academy Recruitment, said: "We are delighted to welcome all three boys to the Academy. It is testament to the work of their former clubs, namely Darren Stewart of MAP and Mike Berry at Saints Southwest, who have been supportive of the boys since we identified them to come on trial.

“As well as being fantastic footballers, all three boys demonstrate the values and characteristics we look for in Academy players. We look forward to supporting them on and off the pitch as part of our Academy."
