Argyle can today confirm that Head of Recruitment Tom Randle will leave the club by mutual consent.
Randle joined the club on a consultancy basis in March, and then joined permanently in May, overseeing a busy summer transfer window that saw 18 players depart and 13 arrive.
He had previously spent time with Houston Dynamo in the MLS, and prior to that worked at Cercle Brugge, Rotherham United, Norwich City and Crystal Palace.
Following Randle’s departure, Argyle’s Head of Football Operations David Fox, commented: “Tom worked incredibly hard over the summer as we underwent a period of transition, and I want to thank him for his efforts as replacing the numbers we have done was not an easy task.
“However, with the evolving demands of the role, it is vital that we have a Head of Recruitment who is visible around the football club, and will be ever present at Home Park Stadium and at matches.
“For personal reasons Tom cannot commit to being in Plymouth more permanently, and therefore we have mutually decided to part ways.”
Randle added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for Argyle, and I am proud of the work we achieved during the summer, creating a strong foundation for the future of the club.
“I understand the club’s decision to have someone more present on a day-to-day basis. Unfortunately, my personal circumstances don’t allow me to do that, and it is best for all parties that we part ways.
“I want to thank everyone for the opportunity and wish the club the best for the future.”
Recruitment for Tom’s replacement is already under way, and he will continue to work his notice period to ensure a smooth transition moving forward.
