Under-18s Preview | Bristol Rovers v Argyle
Argyle’s Under-18 side are in action this Saturday morning, 1 October, away to Bristol Rovers in their next Youth Alliance League game (11am).
Darren Way’s Young Pilgrims head north in good form, having won all three of their league fixtures so far this season. Wins at Cheltenham Town and Swindon Town, followed by a home win against Forest Green, has meant the Under-18s are 100% in the division so far.
This has Argyle in second place in the table, behind Bournemouth, but the Cherries have played five times to get the 12 points they have accrued so far.
Rovers’ fortunes have been less favourable. They drew their opening game against Cheltenham Town, but have since been beaten by Newport County, Bournemouth and Exeter City.
Mirroring the first team, this game starts off a busy month for the Under-18s, who will be in action in three cup competitions as well as playing four league fixtures.
Way often talks of the development of his young players being equally about the preparation for life as a professional as it is improving on-field attributes. October is set to be a big month, for Pilgrims both senior and junior.
