Under-18s Report | Bristol Rovers 0 Argyle 2
Argyle’s Under-18s maintained their 100% record in the EFL Youth Alliance League with an excellent performance against a gutsy Rovers side.
Goals from Henry Donovan and Will Jenkins Davies completed a 2-0 success in Bristol, making it four wins from four and a goals record of 15 for and just two conceded this season.
The Young Pilgrims had the perfect start, taking a fifth-minute lead after a great left-wing move. Jack Endacott provided the cross for Henry Donovan to tap home from close range.
Argyle continued to cause the Gas problems down the left and a second goal arrived on 17 minutes.
Great interplay between Jenkins Davies and Freddie Issaka ended with the Gas goalkeeper parrying the latter's shot only for Jenkins Davies to net his eighth goal, in all competitions, this season.
The home side came more into the game as the half wore on but they found the Argyle defence in fine form and goalkeeper Zak Baker was never really troubled.
Jenkins Davies saw another shot fly narrowly wide of the right-hand post before Rovers fashioned a rare attack on 58 minutes, but Baker was equal to the task as he pulled off a fine save.
He made an even better one in the closing stages, with Rovers countering as The Pilgrims went in search of a third. Argyle kept their sheet clean, and kept their good run going.
