Green Army

Vale Park Supporter Information

Heading into the final game of the Sky Bet League One season, Argyle have an opportunity to clinch the title at Port Vale on Sunday.

The Green Army’s support throughout the season has been immense and has played a huge part in the team’s success on the pitch, both at Home Park and on the road. Some 4,000 of the Argyle faithful will travel to Staffordshire, with many thousands more expected on Monday afternoon at the Promotion Parade, to further recognise the team’s achievements.

As we approach the final game of the season and with so much still to play for, we must remind those travelling that in the interests of safety for everyone inside Vale Park the pitch is for the managers, players, and match officials, while the away end is there for you to support the team.

At the end of Saturday’s promotion game there was an incursion which disrupted celebrations for the players and coaching staff. No matter the reason, any supporter who comes onto the pitch is breaking the law and putting the welfare of players, coaches, match officials, club staff and fellow fans at risk.

At the start of this season, the Premier League, EFL and The FA worked with the Football Supporters' Association to introduce new measures and stronger sanctions to tackle anti-social and criminal behaviours, such as entering the pitch and the use of pyrotechnics.

All identified offenders will be reported by clubs to the police and prosecution could result in a permanent criminal record, which may affect their employment and education, and could result in a prison sentence.

The FA will also be enforcing a tougher charging and sanctioning policy for clubs, which will reinforce these measures. Club bans can also extend to accompanying parents or guardians of children who take part in this activity. We will be working closely with Port Vale to ensure no issues arise.

For the final time this season, the Green Army are urged to make their voices heard, as they always do, cheering the team on from the stands. We encourage our loyal travelling support to keep the pitch free and remain in the stands as all fans will have their opportunity to celebrate with the team at Monday’s Promotion Parade, with further details on the festivities available here.

Argyle Manager Steven Schumacher said: “This season has been special and the support from the Green Army has been incredible throughout. We know 4,000 of you will be travelling up to Port Vale and your support from the stands will once again be needed as we look to take one final step.”
